Clarity. Culture. Change.

LEANNE LEVERS

Scholar. Storyteller. Strategist. Advocate.

I am a Jamaican-born leader with more than fifteen years’ experience strengthening movements, shaping strategy, and supporting resource mobilisation across the United States, the Caribbean, Africa, and Europe.

I grew up in a post-colonial society where reproductive autonomy is criminalised, marital rape remains conditional, and gendered violence structures daily life. In that context, care, accountability, and shared responsibility were not abstract principles but practical necessities. Those early realities continue to shape how I build relationships, respond to community needs, and approach leadership within movements, institutions, and the philanthropic ecosystems that resource them.

My work sits at the intersection of grassroots organising and philanthropy. I advise foundations, philanthropic collaboratives, and high-net-worth donors; develop communications and ecosystem strategies for major funds; and support organisations navigating political pressure, transition, and cultural change. My experience spans national political communications, maternal-health and birth-justice research, and long-term partnerships with organisations working across gender justice, democracy, and economic equity.

Across my career, I have worked alongside movements, foundations, and philanthropic partners to shape strategies, donor engagement, and communications that have supported the mobilisation of more than US $500 million for gender justice, birth justice, health equity, and racial equity.

I am also an author and public speaker, with published and forthcoming work on restorative justice, gender, and governance, and regular invitations to speak at global conferences, universities, and policy forums.

I am a survivor, a caregiver, and an organ donor. My leadership is grounded in transparency, collaboration, accountability, and a refusal to abandon people at the margins.
